PICKERING Game and Country Fair is celebrating its 12th year at a new venue.

The event, on Saturday and Sunday will be held at Scampston Hall, near Malton.

Two action-packed arena programmes run from 10am to 5pm each day. After a successful introduction in 2013, the event will feature a programme of equine events, including showjumping classes on the Saturday, followed by a showjumping competition and heavy horse show on the Sunday.

Also taking to the ring is award-winning gun dog trainer Adrian Slater who will be demonstrating his skills for the crowds, as well as hosting gun dog scurry tests on land and water.

Another main arena highlight will be the Mounted Games Association of Great Britain whose riders will compete on horseback in a series of challenges against the clock.

Families can join in the fun with their pet in a fun dog show starting at 9.30am each day. Taking place on both days, ferrets, as well as terriers and lurchers, will take part in fast-paced racing and shows. Entry can be made on the day. Racing starts at 9am with showing starting at midday.

National clay pigeon shooting will also take place at the show, which will play host to the UK Tractor Show with hundreds of tractors on display, many of which will be taking part in tractor pulling competitions in the tractor pulling arena.

There will also be trade stands, craft & fine food marquee, quad bike rides, vintage vehicle displays, licensed bar and catering outlets.
