SIX young people from the Ryedale District Scouts attended the National Queen's Scout Parade at Windsor Castle - alongside 650 other award holders from the UK.
The Queen's Scout Award is the highest award achievable in the scouting movement in the Commonwealth. It involves challenges from several areas such as community involvement, outdoor adventures and the development of leadership skills.
Alison Martin, from the unit, said: "To gain this highest award is an honour, but it is made even more special by attending this National Parade."
As part of the parade the scouts marched into the quadrangle at Windsor Castle. An inspection was carried out by the Queen's representative HRH Prince Michael of Kent and the Chief Scout, Bear Grylls.
The parade then marched through the castle and down to St George's Chapel, where they took part in the National Scout Service before exiting the castle.
Steve Backshall, the Cubs 100 ambassador, was also on hand to meet and greet the award-holders.
