Here are five festive fun things to do in Ryedale this weekend.
1. Norton light switch on - Derwent Arms car park, Church Street, Norton - Entertainment from 12noon including music, magic and games. Lights switched on at 6pm
2. Christmas festival, Kirkbymoorside - Children's activities from 10.30am, Kirkbymoorside Town Brass Band, Santa in his grotto and reindeer. There is also a treasure hunt and fancy dress and over 30 craft stalls.
3. Pickering Christmas light switch-on - entertainment from 2pm - seasonal market and music from local musicians, Father Christmas will arrive on the Ryedale Lions sleigh at 5pm. Beck Isle Museum will also be hosting a craft fair.
4. Castle Howard is decorated for the festive period with live daily performances from Emmanuel Vass
5.Christmas fairs - Milton Rooms, Malton, Rillington Pre-School, Rillington Village Hall, Marton Mission Room, Wombleton Village Hall and Rivermead Care Home, Norton
