THE next Malton Monthly Food Market takes place on Saturday.

This month's free chef demonstrations will include Chris Turner from Garth Cottage showing some great uses for her flavoured vinegars and dressings and Luke Butler of The Oak Tree Steak House and Grill, Helperby, part of the Provenance Inns group.

Luke said: “We are delighted to be able to have a demonstration at Malton Monthly Food Market, which is a honey-pot for local producers.

“Our menu at The Oak Tree Steak House and Grill makes full use of seasonal produce, so by creating dishes in front of a live audience, it’s a chance to show off Yorkshire food – and offer some tasty treats too.”

Tom Naylor-Leyland, director of Malton Monthly Food Market, said: “Following the great success of September’s inaugural Malton Game and Seafood Festival, it’s wonderful to be able to offer artisan products and locally-produced food at our regular monthly market again this month.”

“Yorkshire is crammed with excellent food producers, from beef to ice-cream and chocolate to cheeses.

“Having so many excellent food producers at one market is something to celebrate and it takes place right here in Yorkshire’s Food Capital.”

A regular – and popular – feature of the Malton Monthly Food Market includes the Malton CIC café, which offers tea, coffee and a chance to unwind after browsing the stalls.

For something more substantial, visitors can enjoy a variety of delicious street food, including venison burgers and Neapolitan style pizzas baked in a wood fired oven.

Visitors can take advantage of the usual two hours' free parking in parts of the Market Place, or the new two hours' free parking spaces on the livestock market.
