COUNCIL tax in Ryedale is set to be frozen for a seventh year running.
Ryedale District Council agreed to the policy by 19 votes to six with two abstentions at last night's meeting.
Earlier, cllr John Clark had backed an amendment to raise council tax by 1.99 percent.
He said the rise would mean an increase in income to the council of between £329,000 and £529,000 and the chance to reduce cuts.
However, the amendment was defeated by 19 votes to eight.
