AN inquest has been opened into the death of Liam Paul Miller, who was murdered in a York street.
Liam, 20, was found suffering from multiple stab wounds in Hamilton Drive West on the night of Monday, July 27.
In a brief hearing at New Earswick Folk Hall, coroner Jonathan Leach said a post mortem examination showed Liam, from Terrington, had suffered a number of stab wounds to his face, neck, head and torso.
Samuel Frederick Donley, 19, was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with Liam's murder and the attempted murder of Theophilos Theophilou, who was stabbed nearby, close to the junction with Lady Hamilton Gardens. He appeared before Leeds Crown Court this week, and a provisional trial date was set for December 14.
Mr Leach adjourned the inquest until after the court proceedings against Donley have concluded.
