IRISH funnyman Ed Byrne will bring his latest tour to Scarborough next year.

Best known for his TV roles on Mock The Week, Have I Got News For You, 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Live At The Apollo, he will perform, Ed Byrne: Outside, Looking In at The Spa on Sunday, April 24, at 8pm.

Ed’s stand-up career began during his college years at Strathclyde University in Glasgow. As student welfare officer he was often called on to MC events in the university and soon was being invited to perform at other colleges around Scotland. Eventually he quit his studies completely and started up a small comedy club in Glasgow.

From there he moved to London, where he started all over again with open spots and short sets on the club circuit, honing his material and developing the curmudgeonly and nerdy persona comedy audiences have come to know.

During his 20-plus years in comedy, the 43-year-old has enjoyed huge critical and popular success in the UK and Ireland, and has also appeared on radio, television and the stage.

Jo Ager Scarborough Spa general manager, said: “Ed Byrne is another great name to add to the already fantastic comedy line-up at The Spa. We are excited to welcome him back after his fantastic performance in 2013.”

Tickets will go on sale on Friday, August 7, priced £19, and are available from The Spa’s box office on 01723 821888 and online at scarboroughspa.co.uk
