THE 63rd Pickering Traction Engine Rally will get underway later this week. 

The rally, held at Pickering show ground, will feature tractor pulling, stunt shows, dog display teams and a variety of countryside pursuits. 

Held from Thursday, July 30 to Sunday the gates will open for visitors at 9am across all four days and will stay open until 11pm on Saturday and Sunday night. On Thursday and Friday the rally will finish at 5pm. 

Visitors can expect to see everything from working examples of agricultural machinery from a bygone era to vintage music across the four-day event. 

There will also be a large autojumble and antiques area for those looking for some hard to find parts for their vintage vehicles.

Meanwhile there will also be another Pickering Traction Engine Rally at Allerton Park, three miles from Knaresborough. 

The rally will get underway on Friday, July 31 from 10am-6pm and run from 10am-11pm on Saturday and 10am-5pm on Sunday. 

Visitors can expect the usual steam and rail attractions as well as quirky additions such as archery and a parrot show. There will be a display of classical vehicles as well as the K9 dog show, crafts and an old time funfair. 

Tickets are £10 for adults, £8 for under 65s and £4 for under 16s. Under 5s go free and family tickets are also available.
