HUNDREDS of vintage vehicles were on display at Duncombe Park, near Helmsley, at the weekend for the 52nd annual steam rally.

Organised by the Great Yorkshire Traction Engine Club, the rally included miniature engines, vintage and commercial vehicles, tractors and bikes.

Barry Rockliff, from the organising committee, said there had been a good turnout, with more than 800 entrants from as far afield as Wales and Scotland.

"We had early mist on Saturday, but that cleared and the weather was very kind to us for the rest of the weekend," he said.

“We always take some of the engines and an organ into Helmsley town centre on Saturday night to provide some entertainment for local people.

“There was a really good atmosphere over the weekend and Duncombe Park is such a lovely site and ideal venue for the rally.”
