ORGANISERS of today’s Malton Show have been working round the clock to make this a truly memorable event.

Now entering its 129th year, the Scampston Park, just off the A64 near Rillington, will open its gates at 9am for annual country event.

Thousands of people are expected to flock to the show, and among the new attractions this year will be Pony Club mounted games plus kids races and tug of war plus various features designed to appeal to the whole family and make it a fun day out.

The show will also feature the many agricultural attractions and horticulture displays, plus farm exhibits and class entries for different types of animals that make up the backbone of the show.

The Ryedale Sheepdog Society will be running the sheepdog trials and there will be numerous events to take part in including the tug-of-war, a fun dog show as well as the many class events, craft marquee and farm market.

Another first for the show will be the informative commentary on the livestock classes while the cattle and sheep are being judged.

The commentator will be Gareth Barlow who has been featured in the media for his work with sheep on land at Castle Howard.

Ryedale Dog Rescue, based in the Malton area, will be hosting a fun dog show when people can turn up on the day and enter it.

Entry costs £10 for adult and £5 for concessions and 12-16-year-olds.
