A FIRE to two poultry sheds killed 4,000 pheasants overnight.
The fire was reported at about 1.40am at Brafferton, Hambleton, and crews from Boroughbridge, Easingwold, Thirsk and Ripon attended the blaze.
A spokeswoman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was under control by about 2.30am, but completely destroyed the two sheds and killed the birds.
The cause was believed to be accidental.
