THOUSANDS of people attended a country show at an historic Yorkshire stately home over the bank holiday.
The Duncombe Park Country Fair saw dog races and displays, jousting and a farmers’ market with trade and craft stalls in the grounds of the stately home near Helmsley.
Nicki Ordidge, show secretary, said: “We have had a lovely day and the sun came out for us. We have been very busy, everyone’s bringing their dogs to show, and they have all had a great time.
“We have so many competitors but had a busy showground, so we reckon between 5,000 and 7,000 people on the day, which is fantastic.”
The show also had a trail hounds event, a terrier race, and a mini Grand National.
Nicki said: “We had children on ponies galloping around the ring, which was great.
“The weather has stayed fine for us. It’s such a beautiful setting it doesn’t matter, but it’s always better when it’s not raining and windy.”
