Police investigating jewellery robbery arrest five people
FIVE people have been arrested by police investigating a robbery in Whitby.
Gouldbuy jewellery store on Flowergate was robbed on Friday as crowds gathered to watch the Tour de Yorkshire cycle race as it visited the coastal town.
North Yorkshire Police said today that officers had arrested four men - two aged 18 and one aged 19 from Whitby and another aged 25 from Saltburn - and a woman aged 21 from Saltburn.
"They have been released on police bail while the investigation continues," said a spokeswoman.
