A RYEDALE mother is aiming to organise further fundraising events to thank the charity that has helped her family.
Lynn Dodds hosted an Easter craft day in Helmsley to raise money for Ryedale Special Families (RSF), which supports families of children with disabilities, illness and special needs.
Her son, Joshua, who suffers from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), attends the charity’s weekly junior club which Lynn said had boosted his confidence and had helped the whole family.
With the help of her friend, Annika Dowson, the pair organised the craft day, giving youngsters the opportunity to make crafts and paint. Lynn said: “We had a lovely day with the children’s crafts. Children came in and went away happy with many treats they had made in the time with us.
“We had people visit from Northallerton, Nawton, Ampleforth, Kirkbymoorside and of course Helmsley.”
Lynn said the event had raised £70 for Ryedale Special Families.
She said: “This was amazing, as we only charged at £3 per child and we are sure RSF will be very happy with this.
“We have decided that as it was successful we will be continuing to do more craft days in the year, within the Ryedale area.”
