AN elderly man was airlifted to hospital after falling ill on steep ground in North Yorkshire.
The man was near Darnholme, Goathland, when he took ill on Sunday.
Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue had a team training nearby at the time, so deployed them to the scene. They arranged for the man to be taken to a waiting Yorkshire Air Ambulance, and he was taken to Scarborough Hospital.
