ORGANISERS of the annual Beertown festival have said “cheers” to another successful event.

The celebration of beer, organised by Malton’s Bad Seed and Brass Castle breweries, returned for a second year at weekend to showcase the best beers around, alongside live music from local bands.

Phil Saltonstall, from Brass Castle, said more than 40 beers had been on offer during the festival, which raises money for Ryedale Special Families.

He said: “It went brilliantly, with many more people through the doors than last year and the atmosphere in the Milton Rooms was fantastic.

“With eight bands over the weekend the rooms really rocked.

“The beers were all top-notch and we had excellent food provided by Malton Relish, The Haxby Baker and The Queen’s Head Cantonese.

“Now we just need to pour over the numbers to determine how much the event has made for Ryedale Special Families Charity – that is, at the end of the day, what Beertown is all about.”
