SNOW is expected to continue in some areas of North Yorkshire for the next 24 hours.
The Met Office has put a number of severe weather warnings in place for the region, with temperatures expected to fall below freezing tonight, and snow and ice likely.
A forecaster said scattered showers would be "sometimes heavy and also wintry, especially over high ground" throughout today, and accumulations of snow are possible over the high ground".

"Scattered showers will continue, becoming increasingly wintry to low levels. A slight accumulation of snow is expected over high ground, and possible at lower levels too. Icy patches are likely. Minimum Temperature -2C."
North Yorkshire Police said the weather was not currently causing problems on the roads, but have urged motorists to take extra care while driving.
Tomorrow could see heavy and thundery showers around the region, which could be wintry at times and lead to up to 8cm snow settling on high ground.
Yellow warnings of snow and ice are in place for North Yorkshire until Wednesday.
