MEMBERS of Kirkbymoorside History Group are inviting people to share their memories at a series of tea and chat sessions.

The group is encouraging people to take along photos and tell their own stories for members to record for future generations.

Louise Mudd, one of the members, said the group wanted to encourage people to talk.

“ We have had a wonderful response to the two latest books – Digging for Yennits and Bread and Cheese – and feel sure there are a lot more stories to capture which people would love to hear,” she said.

“There are a lot of people offering to write recollections who charge fees for the service. Kirkbymoorside History Group is doing the same job without it costing individuals anything. We only ask that the stories can go into a book for others to enjoy”

The first tea and chat session will be held at the Moorside Room, in Kirkbymoorside, on Wednesday, February 4, from 9.15am to 5pm.

Further sessions will be held on April, 1, June 3 and August 5.
