VISITORS to Malton and Norton can find out more about the two towns with new information signs.

The signs – a single one fixed on the railway station platform, the other a two-sided stand-alone sign at the entrance to the station car park – have been completely redesigned and updated, with new images, text and maps to help people make the most of the area.

The new ‘QR’ graphic takes smart phone users directly to the VisitRyedale.co.uk website for information on accommodation, events and attractions in the area.

Provided as part of a partnership between Ryedale District, and the two town councils, the signs were created by Norton-based company Ten Fathoms, designers of the 2014’s Ryedale Book Festival promotional materials.

Ryedale District Council’s visitor economy officer, Craig Nattress said: “The new information boards at the Railway Station have been re-designed and updated to reflect the continuous improvement of the visitor experience in Malton and Norton whilst also highlighting the diversity the wider area has to offer.”
