FLAMINGO Land will hold its first-ever FlaminGO! 10k in March.

The event is expected to attract 600 participants, who will be raising funds for the Udzungwa Forest Project (UFP), a Flamingo Land initiative in Tanzania, aimed at protecting tropical forests through animal and plant conservation projects.

It will take place on Sunday, March 15, at 10am, and costs £13 for UK athletics affiliated runners and £15 for unaffiliated runners aged 15 and over. There are zoo experiences and family weekend tickets for the main prizes and there is free entry to the zoo solely for runners afterwards.

Application forms are available at runbritain.com under and there is a sponsorship form on the Flamingo Land website, flamingoland.co.uk, if runners want to raise more money for the Udzungwa Forest Project.

Organisers are also looking for event sponsors and marshals. For more information, email circle@flamingoland.co.uk Matthew Durrant, FlaminGO! 10k race director, said: “The run is centred on everyone doing their bit for conservation and enjoying the experience at the same time.”
