PRAYERS were said during the weekend Masses at St Leonard and St Mary’s Church, in Malton, for Johnny Connors, who was killed in a car crash in the early hours last Sunday.
A Requiem Mass is being held on Friday at the church and the funeral of Mr Connors, 26, of Tara Park, Malton, will take place there on Monday, December 22.
Three others – two women and a man – were injured in the crash when the black Mercedes Mr Connors was driving collided with the central barrier at Whitwell-on-the Hill.
Police said a 22-year-old female passenger from Malton suffered serious leg injuries and an 18-year-old Malton woman sustained neck and spinal injuries. A 29-year-old man from Knaresborough was treated for cuts and bruises.
The church newsletter said: “We send prayers and condolences to his family, fiancé and friends at this difficult time.”
