AN environmental facelift for Helmsley Market Place will not be carried out this year, members of the town council have been told.
The town council’s clerk, Victoria Ellis, said consultation will be carried out in the town for preliminary design work, including seating areas.
Improvements are also planned at the parish churchyard of All Saints, where a request has been made for trees between the lych gate and the church door to be cutback.
The council will research the ownership of a wall between The Black Swan Hotel and the churchyard as part of a plan to create a wildflower area in the churchyard.
Councillors were told by Ms Ellis that complaints had been received about vehicles damaging pavements and iron covers in the road and inconsiderate parking at Bell’s Court.
