A WOMAN who changed career after beating cancer is supporting two charities that fund research into the disease.

Tracy Chapman was 34 when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, which had also affected her mother and sister. After successful treatment Tracy, who was working in the pharmaceutical industry in Surrey, decided to move closer to her family in Yorkshire, where she came from.

She said: “Having breast cancer was a huge blow, but it also gave me the confidence to make a life-changing decision and do something that I had always wanted to do.”

Tracy had long been interested in photography and, after completing a diploma, moved to Weaverthorpe and set up her own business, Yorkshire Wolds Photography

. For Breast Cancer Awareness Month she has produced two limited-edition prints. They cost £30 each, or £50 framed, and £15 per sale will go to Cancer Research UK and Saint Catherine’s Hospice.

Tracy will also donate five per cent of her profit to the charities this month.

The prints are available at yorkshire-wolds.org.uk or at retailers including Anna Florence in Malton.
