A MOTORCYCLIST from York has died and another man was seriously injured in a crash.
The 48-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which happened on the B6479 between Ribblehead and Horton, in Ribblesdale, at about 5.35pm yesterday.
A second motorcyclist, also aged 48 and from York, was taken to Airedale Hospital for treatment, but a North Yorkshire Police spokesman said his injuries were not thought to be life threatening.
The spokesman said the two men came off their bikes on a left hand bend, and the road was closed until about midnight while investigtations of the scene took place.
Anyone who saw the crash or either of the bikes - a black KTM and a red and white Husqvardna - travelling on the B6479 prior to the collision is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101.
