PRINCESS Elizabeth married Philip Mountbatten, the Second World War came to an end and the Olympics were held in London.
All of the above took place during the rollercoaster decade of the 1940s - one which is still talked about with fondness in the household of Karen and Tony Sedgewick.
The couple's affection for the vintage era was celebrated during their 25th wedding anniversary as family and friends transformed their appearances to re-create a wedding from the period at Eden Camp, near Malton.
The couple, from Kippax, near Leeds, renewed their vows during the ceremony. Mr and Mrs Sedgewick are keen 1940s enthusiasts and re-enactors and the entire day, from the wedding dress - recreated from an original pattern - to the attire of the guests, and the food, was all based on the 1940s.
