AN ONLINE campaign has been launched to try to find the thugs who injured a teenage girl in a North Yorkshire seaside town.

Amy Maddison, 16, was walking in Woodlands Ravine, Scarborough, at about 10.30pm on Friday, September 5, when she passed a group of three youths.

North Yorkshire Police said one of the group grabbed her and pushed her against the wall, before she fell to the ground, suffering a bloodied nose.

Since the incident, Amy's mother Wendy posted this picture on Facebook and encouraged readers to share it in the hope that the suspects can be found.

On her Facebook site, she said: "Apart from the verbal abuse and a few aches and pains she is fine but if you think you know these thugs please don't keep quiet as this could have been your daughter or son and next time it might not just be cuts and bruises."

Police said the first suspect was about 6ft 2in tall with a slim build, and wearing an orange and yellow hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms with stripes on the lower half of the leg and white trainers.

The second man was also about 6ft 2in tall, with a slim build and was dressed in dark trousers and a hooded top with white trainers.

The third man was shorter with a slim build and was wearing a purple and blue hooded top and black Adidas tracksuit bottoms with stripes down the legs.

Anyone with information which could assist police with their investigation should phone Scarborough police on 101 or email stephen.ashley@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk Alternatively, phone Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
