MALTON library celebrated its own success on Saturday.
Staff and users mark their achievement of winning North Yorkshire’s Library of the Year.
More than 126,000 visits were made to the library in the last year by adults and children to enjoy the range of services on offer and the relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
As part of the celebrations visitors were able to find out about the services on offer, talk to team members and volunteers, check out the range of current fiction and non-fiction titles, or borrow a DVD.
Adult Learning Services and the library's partner organisation, Age UK, were also on hand to offer advice and information.
Other activities represented included Malton’s Knit and Natter group which is a regular feature on Tuesday mornings along with computer courses and children's activities.
Julie Atkinson, Senior Development Officer at Malton Library, said it had been an enjoyable day.
"It went really well and lots of people came along to share the celebrations," she added.
"We are delighted to win the library of the year award which is helped by the partnerships we have with other groups and organisations."
