A NEW visitor service set up in a bookstore in a picturesque North Yorkshire town has nearly completed its first summer season.

The new Visitor Information Point (VIP) opened earlier this year at the Cut Price Bookstore in the popular tourist town of Helmsley.

The service provides free information leaflets, maps, guidebooks and postcards and free Wi-Fi for visitors to search for more information, book accommodation, or check attraction opening times.

Visitors are directed to the www.VisitRyedale.co.uk website to book accommodation and view listings of local events.

The information point is open seven days a week from 9.30am until 5pm Monday to Saturday and 11am until 4.30pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
