NHS Scarborough and Ryedale Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) has launched a virtual network to make it easier for people to get involved in helping to improve the health and wellbeing of their community.

The Loop is aimed at anyone with an interest in healthcare and who wants to play a part in how services are designed.

People can choose to be involved as much or as little as possible, from simply receiving information and updates about the CCG to taking part in surveys and focus groups related to the aspects of health in which they are interested.

All that is needed is an email address and access to the internet, so that people can receive information about the opportunities and to have their say.

Andy Hudson, CCG Lay member and lead for patient involvement, said: “We know how passionate people are about their local NHS and that’s why we have set up this virtual engagement network.

“The Loop complements our existing patient representatives group and also the GP practice patient participation groups. This means that patients now have a number of ways to get involved and ensures we can hear the views of a diverse range of people.

“We have big plans for the next few years and also a number of challenges. I’d encourage anyone with an interest in improving health and wellbeing to sign up.”
