A FESTIVAL of fossils is to be held in Scarborough next month.
Scarborough Museums Trust and The Palaeontological Association will bring the Fossil Festival to the town with events including public talks from leading scientists and fun for young children.
The festival runs from Friday, September 12 to Sunday, September 14, and will be held in and around the Rotunda Museum.
The area around the Rotunda will be covered in tents and marquees with stalls from the Natural History Museum, Dinosaur Isle Museum, York Museums Trust, and various universities. A special film, called Horace the Pliosaur, will be shown inside a travelling walk-in cinema, and there will be educational street theatre, jugglers and circus skills sessions.
