A RYEDALE computer business is backing the Minstermen next season after its owner became “hooked” on the York City FC experience.

Helmsley Computers has agreed to be the club’s back of shorts sponsor for 2014-15 League Two season.

The company’s logo will adorn both the team’s home and away shorts, ensuring it will be viewed by the tens of thousands of football fans who watch the Minstermen throughout the season.

Helmsley Computers can also expect extensive coverage in the club’s match programme, website and social media channels, and in local and national media.

Andy Parsons, director of Helmsley Computers, is a relatively new follower of the Minstermen, after deciding to give his football-mad son, Harry, aged seven, his first taste of live football at Bootham Crescent.

Mr Parsons said the company was delighted to be backing York City in the forthcoming campaign.

“We came once and we were hooked, absolutely hooked,” he said.

“York City is such a friendly club, it has a really special atmosphere and it feels really safe for children.

“We really enjoy our trips to Bootham Crescent and decided it would be great to get a bit more involved and support the club as much as possible.”

Helmsley Computers, based in the market town, offers a range of computer, IT services and website design solutions.

Mr Parsons said: “A bit like York City, we like to think we can offer a really personalised service and we really aim to look after our customers and build a special, long-lasting relationship with them. Our customers range in ages from eight to 80.”
