AN affordable housing open day will be held today (Wednesday), from 3pm to 7pm, at The Pavilion, in Nawton.

The event relates to the new properties for rent at Station Road, in Nawton, as well as the remaining discount for sale properties at The Sidings, in Nawton.

In 2011, 10 rented properties were built in Station Road by Yorkshire Housing for local people from Nawton and Beadlam.

After another parish survey showed housing need in the parishes, planning was approved earlier this year for another eight properties in Station Road.

The homes will be a mix of one, two and four bedroom houses, as well as two bedroom bungalows.

The event will be an opportunity for people with a local connection to Nawton or Beadlam to view the site plans and to find out about how to apply for one of these new affordable homes.

Representatives will be there from Yorkshire Housing and Ryedale District Council to answer questions and to help people to register an interest in one of the homes. Refreshments will be available.
