A CYCLIST was injured after he was involved in a collision with a car which failed to stop.
The accident, involving the pedal cycle and a dark-coloured saloon car, happened at about 6pm on Wednesday, June 25, in Amotherby Lane, Amotherby.
A 60-year-old local man, who was riding the bike, suffered a minor injury. The driver of the car did not stop at the scene.
PC Kay Campbell, of Malton Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “It may be that the driver of the car which was involved in this incident is unaware that a collision has occurred.
“If you drive a dark-coloured saloon car and were in the area around the time of the incident, I ask you to come forward so that I can take a statement from you.
“I am also asking anyone with information about the collision to contact the police as soon as possible.”
Anyone with further information should phone Malton police on 101, select option two and ask for Kay Campbell.
Alternatively, information can also be emailed to kay.campbell@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
