The shrub which is called "A Rose for Ryedale" is bred by Robert Webster of Sheffield and will be officially launched at the Pickering Rose Festival on July 12 when Cllr Luke Ives, Chairman of Ryedale District Council will be presented with the rose.

A £2 contribution for every sale will be donated to Ryedale Special Families the chairman's chosen charity for his year in office.

Cllr Ives, Chairman of Ryedale District Council, said: "The Rose for Ryedale is a wonderful way to raise the profile of the district and funds for a local charity."
