RYEDALE Folk Museum is holding its first ever Bug Fest! on Sunday as part of celebrations taking place across the country for National Insect Week.

The museum along with a host of other organisations will celebrate all things great about British insects with displays and activities. Children can follow the museum’s Bug Superhero trail, make an insect mask, a bookworm bookmark or a beeswax candle, decorate a bug-themed biscuit and go on a mini-beast hunt.

The museum will be supported by moth expert David Chesmore, Dave Wainwright from Butterfly Conservation and the North York Moors National Park Authority’s River Esk Project Officer, Simon Hirst who will be chatting to visitors about bugs to discover in rivers.

The event takes place from 11am to 4pm
