AN ANNUAL 'posh shop' will be popping up in Malton this weekend to raise funds for both local and international charities.

Malton and Norton Rotary Club are organising the charity shop for the fourth year at 12 Market Street.

High quality, second hand items will be for sale with the shop run by Friends of the Rotary for three weeks starting from Saturday, June 28.

Paul Prichard, President of Malton & Norton Rotary Club, said: “The Rotary Club is very grateful to the Fitzwilliam (Malton) Estate in allowing us to use their pop-up shop facility for this year’s fund-raising efforts.

“ In the past three years, the Friends have raised over £15,000, all of which goes to local and international charities," he added.

"We are hoping to add to the coffers during its three week opening period."

Malton & Norton Rotary Club was formed in 1946, with the aim of putting something back into the community, while at the same time allowing members to make new friends and enjoying a varied social life.

Paul added: “By combining our skills and resources, members of Rotary can and do make a real contribution to the lives of others in the community. The Posh Shop is one such avenue.”

Tobias Burckhardt, the Estate’s Surveyor said: “We are delighted to be helping Malton & Norton Rotary Club with their ‘Posh Shop’ fundraising venture again this year.

“We wish them every success during their three-week opening.”

The shop will be open from 10am to 4pm each day
