North Yorkshire's white horse is being spruced up ready for the summer season.

The make-over of the White Horse of Kilburn which started yesterday is being done by the Kilburn White Horse Association - the charity that looks after the icon landmark on Sutton Bank in the North York Moors.

Richmondshire industrial maintenance company Instore Solutions Ltd have stepped up to do the work over three days from Friday, June 20, and Sunday, June 22, and much of the paint has been donated by Batley based PPG Architectural Coatings UK Limited.

The figure dates from the 1850s, and is the largest and more northerly in England.
