Updated 10:45am Friday 20th June 2014 in News
A GROUP of hairdressers are swapping their sissors for their running shoes to take part in this Sunday's Race for Life.
The staff members, from SOTA hair salon in Malton, are hoping to raise around £500 by completing the run at York racecourse.
More than 2,500 people are currently signed up to the race, which sees many people don fancy dress and bright pink tutus for the occasion.
Stylist Catherine Robinson, said it was the first time they had taken part in the event as a team.
"All of us know someone who has had cancer or has connections with someone who has cancer so we wanted to do something to raise funds," she added.
"We are all looking forward to it and really excited about the day and completing the run together."
Anyone who would like to sponsor the team can do so at SOTA, Wheelgate, Malton.
