A HERO van driver has been reunited with the child whose life he helped to save thanks to a man hunt by a local radio station.

Stephen Wise, from Carlton Miniott near Thirsk, was stuck in traffic in Scarborough when he spotted terrified mum Sue Elsworthy screaming for help near her car on the side of the road.

Sue's 16 month old son Harry had had a seizure, and Sue was hysterical with fear and desperate for help. Stephen pulled over, laid Harry on the back seat and made sure his airways were clear while calling for an ambulance, but once Harry was safe simply left to get on with his day.

Last Friday Sue contacted Yorkshire Coast Radio for help to track her hero down to thank him, and Stephen has since been reunited with Sue and Harry and presented with a bottle of Champagne.
