CASTLE Howard has been rated by its visitors as one of the UK’s best tourism attractions for the second consecutive year.

The award was given by Irish bus tour operator CIE Tours International, which recognised the quality of the UK’s hotels and visitor attractions by awarding Castle Howard and 31 other tourism providers a merit award in its UK Awards of Excellence.

At the award ceremony in Glasgow, merit awards were made to suppliers achieving an overall customer satisfaction rating of 90 per cent or more, based on customer feedback.

Heather Jones, business development manager at Castle Howard, said: “We are delighted to have achieved a special accolade award of excellence. Visitors play an important role in helping us conserve and restore the 300-year-old house and estate, so it is their continuing support which preserves Castle Howard for future generations.

“Delivering excellent service is at the forefront and we continually strive to improve the visitor experience.”
