EXPLORE your natural heritage and step into Spring with the Ryedale Folk Museum’s themed events and activities this month.

The museum is inspiring children to enjoy the great outdoors and explore nature’s garden through a number of Springwatch-themed activities.

Families will be able to spot bluebells, catkins, blossom, birds, eggs and learn about the meaning behind the phrase “Mad as a March hare” with a fun trail. In addition, there will be cooking in the Victorian White Cottage and children’s hands-on crafts.

The activities end on Easter Monday when visitors can see spinning, weaving and knitting demonstrated by Cleveland Fibre Arts group, sample hot cross buns on the range, go on an egg hunt, mangle print your own Easter card or enjoy some children’s Easter crafts.

Those who cannot get to the museum can take part in a number of Springwatch-themed features on the museum’s Facebook and Twitter pages. The activities take place from Tuesday, April 8 to Thurday, April 17, on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays, from 11am to 4pm. The Easter Monday celebration event takes place from 11am to 4pm.
