RESIDENTS are invited to find out more about the churches in Norton at a treasure hunt on Sunday.
The event is part of the Love Norton 14 initiative, organised by the churches, including St Peter’s, Trinity Methodist, Bethel Methodist, The Salvation Army and Elim Ryedale, to encourage people to show how much their care for the town.
Families and friends are invited to start the trial from any of the churches picking up a quiz sheet which will take them around the other locations.
Eve Ridgeway, from the Love Norton 14 team, said there would also be child-friendly questions.
“Refreshments will be available in each church, with a warm welcome, so people can stop for a break whenever they like,“ she said.
“We’re encouraging everyone taking part to gather at Salvation Army at 3.45pm for a final prize giving from the quizzes and celebration of the afternoon. The event is completely free and open to all.”
One of the aims of Love Norton 14 is to promote what the churches do for residents and businesses and organise events to bring the community together.
The treasure hunt takes place on Sunday, from 2pm to 4pm.
