A WOMAN has fulfilled her ambition of becoming a florist by opening her own shop.

Becci Kiddle, from Kirkbymoorside, has always been interested in flowers and, following the birth of her third child, decided it was time to follow her dream.

“I’d been working in a local shop and, while on maternity leave, I decided I didn’t want to go back, but wanted to do something for myself,” she said. “My mum, Nina, used to be a florist and she had taught me a lot about the job. I started with a market stall and that was doing so well that I took the plunge and opened a shop as well,” she said.

As well as flowers, Becci also stocks gifts and balloons and specialises in vintage items.

“Vintage items have always been an interest of mine, so I wanted to include things that people could hire or buy,” she said.

“The response from people has been really good and I’m really grateful for their support.”
