THE Academy Hair and Beauty Training College has been awarded the Work Experience Quality Gold Standard.
The honour was awarded by Fair Train, which recognises that work experience benefits employers, young people and training providers and that for many young people this is the first step into work.
The Academy has pledged to provide young people with high-quality work experience schemes. More than 200 students study at the academies in Norton and Scarborough on NVQ courses.
Full-time hairdressing and barbering students are supported by The Academy to find a work placement so they can build confidence and practise skills in the salon. Beauty students enjoy placements and paid work as they progress through their Level 3 course.
Lindsay Burr, director, said: “Quality work experience and apprenticeships can change a person’s life and give them a clearer vision for their future. I would like to thank all of the employers who work with The Academy.”
