A FARM will become one of the greenest in the area after councillors granted planning permission for a wind turbine.

Members of Ryedale District Council planning committee approved Iain Hurst’s application to install a 25m-high wind turbine at his farm in Pasture Road, Weaverthorpe.

Mr Hurst said that the turbine would help to safeguard the future of his large pig farm and would limit future reliance on fuel.
