A YOUNG boy was approached by a man outside his home in Norton, police have said.

The nine-year-old was outside his home in Eastfield Avenue at about 8.10pm on Thursday, February 13, when the man approached him and made him walk to Beverley Road.

The boy then ran home, and is talking to trained police officers to help the investigation.

Detective Sergeant Rob Henderson said: “If you were in the area between Eastfield Avenue and Beverley Road between 6.45pm and 8.15pm on Thursday, I ask you contact the police, as you may have vital information which could help to progress the investigation and establish the facts around this report. I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a man walking with a young boy and urge them to get in touch as a matter of urgency.”
