A DECISION to cut bus service subsidies by £2m will go before a North Yorkshire County Council scrutiny committee today.
A group of councillors who are against the cuts appealed for the decision to be called in after the county council executive committee approved cuts to 11 bus services across the region last month.
The cuts, which are due to take effect from April, will hit rural Ryedale areas the hardest, with Pickering losing its bus service completely.
The county council's Transport, Economy and Environment Overview & Scrutiny Committee will look at the decision today in Northallerton.
If the committee decides that the decision should be looked at again it could be referred back to full council or back to the executive committee before the executive is asked to reassess the decision.
