CHILDREN’S charity Action Medical Research is looking for cyclists to sign up now for its popular York 100 bike ride this summer.

Participants can register now to secure their places for the event, which takes place on Sunday, August 17. There is a choice of a new cool (40 miles) route, plus the usual classic (67 miles) and champion (102 miles) ones setting out from the University of York’s Sports Centre, in Heslington.

They all head out in through the Vale of York to the Yorkshire Wolds, passing Kirkham Priory, with the longer routes heading to the Howardian Hills and Castle Howard. The routes are challenging, each featuring some climbs, catering for both experienced and novice cyclists.

Cyclists participating in the York 100 will be raising money to help fund medical research into conditions affecting babies and children.

Sign up before Valentine’s Day and get a 20 per cent discount on the entry fee – use voucher code BIKELOVE. For more information about the York 100 and to register, visit the website action.org.uk/york_100.
