A NEW deputy clerk has been appointed to Norton Town Council.
Tim Hicks, who lives in Langton Road, Norton, will assist town clerk Ros Tierney.
The 41-year-old worked for King Sturge, in Leeds, for 13 years as a chartered surveyor, before returning to his home town to live and work.
Tim said he was looking forward to his new job.
“It is a busy and varied role, and it will be interesting to see how the town council links with the councils at district and county level to best serve the area.
“There is a lot of work to do administering, maintaining and enhancing the town, including long-term infrastructure projects, and I’m looking forward to this, as well as supporting the main function of all the councillors as they legislate to look after the town’s best interests.”
