People living in the Ryedale area are being urged to find out more about ways to reduce oil bills by up to 10 per cent.

As part of the Yorkshire Energy Partnerships (YEP) efforts to save energy and money, an oil buying co-ordinator will visit Ryedale over the next few months.

Two new events are: Tuesday, February 4, at Cropton Village Hall, from 10am – 2pm, and Saturday, February 15 at Weaverthorpe Village Hall, at 7pm.

With additional events organised for: Wednesday, February 19 at The Old Vicarage, Helmsley , parish forum meeting for Western area 7.15pm and Thursday, March 6 at Thornton-le-Dale Village Hall, parish forum meeting for Southern area at 7pm.

A Ryedale District Council spokesman said: “The YEP – supported by Ryedale District Council and Scarborough Borough Council – is supporting oil cubs throughout the area. Joining gives local people the chance to bulk buy fuel to keep prices down and protect the local environment.”
